The phrase “Who Says Elephants Can't Dance?” comes from Lou Gerstner, the former CEO of IBM, and is the title of his memoirs, in which he describes how he saved the company from bankruptcy and made it successful again by changing its culture and strategy, much like an elephant learning to “dance”.
This metaphor is wonderfully suited to opening up a new perspective on seemingly unsolvable situations.
